Lea practices in the area of international tax and estate planning. She advises high-net-worth clients on a broad range of tax issues including the U.S. transfer tax rules affecting U.S. and non-U.S. tax residents, and the income taxation of domestic and foreign trusts and their beneficiaries. Lea also has experience structuring foreign investment in U.S. real estate and creating succession-planning structures for cross-border families.
Lea was a Symposium Editor for the Inter-American Law Review at the University of Miami School of Law. She was also an active member of the local site for the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program (VITA) led by the University of Miami School of Law's Tax Law Society partnered with the Internal Revenue Service.
Lea was born and raised in La Paz, Bolivia.
