HERRMANN graduated from Yale University (B.A. 1965) and the University of Michigan Law School (J.D. 1968). He was a member of the adjunct faculty at New York University School of Law for ten years where he taught graduate students in the Institutes of Comparative Law and Inter-American Law. He is a director of the American Foreign Law Association, a member of the Association of the Bar of the City of New York and served on the Foreign and Comparative Law Committee and Inter-American Affairs Committee; he is a member of the Society of Trust & Estate Practitioners and the Maritime Law Association of the United States. He counsels clients on all aspects of international income and estate planning and real estate tax planning, and he writes and lectures frequently on these topics.
